February, albeit a short month, kept me super busy! We started off early in the month by holding our third annual Super Bowl party. It’s more of a shove-your-face-full-of-food fest than an actual party to watch the game. Todd and I were happy with the outcome of the game, (Yay Packers) although we still wish the Jets had made it into the game!!
Relay for Life planning has also been in full swing this month. We finally secured our event location as well as a meeting location! With those two big pieces of the event secure it’s time for all the other details: booking the stage, sound equipment, tents, food, entertainment, dj, and countless other things. This time of relay season albeit hectic is a lot of fun. It’s during this time that we get to bond as a committee and work together towards the ultimate goal, a 24 hour event to raise money for cancer. If anyone would like to donate to the cause my personal fundraising page can be found here. Any donations for this incredibly worthy cause would be much appreciated!
Towards the middle of the month Todd and I hit the road and went to New Jersey to celebrate both my aunt Barbara and Grandma’s birthdays. We went to this fantastic restaurant on the water in Edgewater, NJ and had a fantastic family dinner. It was great to get our whole family together and celebrate.
Following the dinner Todd and I took my aunt Barbara back to CT with us, as she spent a whole week with us. She came to get out of NJ for a week and experience fabulous CT. (HAHA) That Saturday my aunt Judy came up to CT as well and we headed to the Connecticut Science center in Hartford, CT. It was an AWESOME museum. The special exhibit on display was all about brainteasers and mindbending challenges. We spent almost 4 hours in JUST that exhibit alone. Our brains were totally twisted by the end of the day. It was an awesome visit though and if you live in the Connecticut area and have never been to the science center, please fix that ASAP. It’s a great place for both kids and adults and well worth the visit.
Tonight Todd and I had our last night of bowling with Todd’s company league. Every Thursday night for the last 8 weeks we’ve come down to Colony Lanes in Wallingford to bowl with Protein Sciences. It’s been a blast, with tonight culminating in the league tournament. Our team consisted of Todd and myself, along with two of his colleagues, Gina and Dan. We were down by one point going into tonight, and we were able to pull off a victory! We took a team photo today after our win. All in all it was a blast and we can’t wait to do it again next year!
In order for me to achieve my goal of 100 books this year, I need to read roughly 8 books per month. I’ve read 7 books in January and 6 in February, leaving me 3 short of my pace so far. Looks like I need to get reading!
